Finally getting to blogging this session from earlier in the summer.

I just adore this family. I first met them back in 2010 and have really enjoyed seeing their sweet family grow. Back in Feb or March of last year, they were gracious enough to let my hubby come along and record me shooting another one of their family sessions. That video is FINALLY done and you can see below.
They will be a family of four very soon and I cannot wait to meet their newest addition! Also, how awesome if mom’s dress?!
A huge THANK YOU to my hubby for depriving himself of sleep to edit this video.
We are getting ready to celebrate my youngest son’s and my niece’s 3rd birthdays soon (they are two months apart) and since they are both so into super heroes, we thought it would be fun to get them together to do a little super hero session. We got them up really early last Saturday morning with promises of donuts, lollipops and other contraband. They were a little grumpy and a lot whiny, but we managed to get a few gems of them allegedly having a good time

That second to last photo is the face she likes to make to her daddy – I just love it!
And just for fun, their first ever photo together:

P.S. That was my sister’s 80′s baby shower. We don’t always dress like that!
I had some grand plans for the morning of our first day of school, but all that went away when I went to bed at around 3am and got woken up by Mena at 5:30. To say she was excited is an understatement.
So things moved at a wild pace that morning (for me, at least) but the kids were so very ready. I caught them patiently waiting for the bus (me!) here:

But despite my running around unprepared, we made it! And on time, too. First day of kindergarten pics were taken in the classroom, “Boo-hoo” bags were picked up from our wonderful PTO, and a pat on the shoulder/”Have a great day” wave was given to our fourth grader (we are not allowed to hug him in public anymore, apparently). I went home, breathed a deep sigh of relief and then realized I have to do this again for the next nine months. When’s summer back again??
Some favorite Mena quotes from that morning:
When I woke her up the first thing she said was, “I’m gonna miss you”.

Mena: I tried to wake you up to fix my hair but you wouldn’t!
Me: Mena. It was 5:30!
Mena: Can we do more homework?
Me: That was it. That’s all you have.
Mena: That’s it?!?!?
Me: Don’t worry. There’s like, more than 200 days of school or something.
Mena: Whoa! YAY!
Me: Did you miss me today?
Mena: Umm. Not really.
“I love school! I want to marry it!”
And one from Adam sometime in the middle of the day, “Hey! Where’s Mena? Meeeeeenaaaaa!!! Where are you?”

Hope everyone out there had a great first day and has a wonderful new year
Two weeks ago we went up to Virginia to hang out with family and celebrate our niece’s high school graduation. We stayed with my sister-in-law and spent a lot of time relaxing in what I have deemed the “Greatest Backyard EVER“. We were blessed with some fantastic weather the first couple of days we were there and one afternoon, I spotted my sweet little girl outside on the hammock just hanging around.

I just love her sweet smiles and giggles!
Have I mention she just graduated from pre-school? I didn’t bring my camera that night (I just really wanted to enjoy watching her “walk”) but my sister and my friend both sent us this pics:

You are lucky you have been spared from the ridiculous ”AWWUAHUAHAHAWAAAA” I uttered when I saw these – especially that second one!
The last couple of weeks have been quite stressful here in the Fleezy household (Demafiles –> Demafleez –> Fleezy…. now you are in the know!) and with every day that passed, things just seemed to get progressively worse. Last Friday, during the worst of it, I took took of my sweet friends along with their kids off to Brenham, TX for a quick day trip to see the bluebonnets and visit the Bluebell Creamery. It was a welcome distraction and ended up being just what I needed. Sweet friends, sweet kids, and sweet sweet ice cream! Although we were missing a few of our kiddos (between the three of us, we have eight!) and we didn’t really have time to search for a really good field, we still got some pretty great pics! Ok, keep in mind these were taken at noon, open field, and immediately after eating ice cream for brunch. The kids were troopers!

I could not have asked for a more perfect day.
